Again apologies for our avid followers for the late posting, but I did have a slight health issue yesterday and ended up with Sun Stroke (heat wasnt that bad, i thought), but I had to get Nurse Nabbs to a) get me warm, then b) try to cool me down for the rest of the night with wet towels... i bet the hotel room cleaners thought the bed looked like the Turin Shroud !!
So the 30th was Mike's birthday and we started the proceedings off over a groiup breakfast and a cake that the hotel had made for us.

Possibly and Im not being biased on this...however... it was one of the most "moist" and "soft" cakes, hidden under a mountain of soft cream. They also played a nice montage of "Happy Birthday tunes.
As it was his Birthday, have I mentioned that already! The Birthday Boy had free choice on what he wanted to do. "BUCKETS" was his reply!
So our intrepid adventurers, headed off on the Ferry across to Intra and then switched the car ferry for the first time to get to Laveno,

Where the happy chappy was nearly doing a Kate Bush and "Running up that Hill" to get to the Bucket Lift (Now it all starts to come together).
So we were officially at "The Top of the World!" and as the carpenters would say, looking down on creation and some looney about to throw himself off a runway in a hang glider.
Short trip back to Pallanza and Mike's next wish Gelato!

The evening started with a short walk to the Gin Bar (again!) and then with a note from Abby the waitress to give to the waiter at the restuaranty to get us better discount, we had a a lovely evening dinner, followed by a short walk to watch a l;ive band that were playing by the ferry station (Ged Wood...what were you doing out here? Great or Murdered version of "Knocking on Heavans Door!" made Mike feel a bit old ... but he had another Gelato while watching mother natures own light show and the fountains again, before retiring to bed.
BADGERS BIORTHDAY DONE...
